One Step.

September 1, 2009

I feel like I’m one step behind.

After starting school again after being abroad, I just feel like so many things have changed and that I can’t keep up. It’s almost like I don’t fit in anymore. But what’s ironic is that coming back just felt so nice. I’d been looking forward to it for a while. And even though I’m off-campus, and pretty much my entire school experience is now different, every once in a while, everything feels the same.

On another note, sometime my apartment is just so hot. But we don’t want to be wasteful with our energy.

I’m regressing back to earlier times. In high school I always did homework on the floor of my room, and I find myself now doing homework on the floor of our living room. Oh, it’s like I’m home.

I saw him in concert when I went to see JM. I didn’t think too much of him back then, but I’ve since grown to like this song especially.

The pool closed (at least for a while) because of bad weather. But when I was driving home, on one side of the highway were dark storm clouds and on the other side, it was clear. Who doesn’t love Texas?

I have quality posts.

This is from Dustin but I think it does a very good job. Thanks.

In other news, more people than I expected are going abroad. Cool.

Three things.

July 2, 2009

There are three things worth noting in my life:

1. I got my first paycheck! Except most of that money goes into repaying my parents for the lifeguard certification class.

2. I killed a fly on my arm. I was ridiculous. How many of you can say you’ve killed a fly with your bare hands?

2 and a half. I saw transformers, but as you can see, it’s not really worth a whole number to me.

3. I fianlly got texting. But as you can see, I really have nothing to say.

Happy Birthday Mai! (I know you don’t read this though haha)

Yep, there’s a Jonas Brother’s concert tonight in Dallas. Unfortunately I’m not going, but one of the girls at the pool is. It’s her first concert! How cute!

Whistle blowing phobia.

June 20, 2009

My first official day at work. And yes, I’m rocking the red swimsuit.

So let’s take a vote. Who thinks being a lifeguard is exciting?

I don’t. It isn’t. Especially the last hour, where every time I looked at the clock only like 3 minutes had passed. On the plus side, my job is like sitting at the beach and tanning, except that you can’t do anything except stare at the water. But you take what you can get right? But compared to other lifeguarding positions I’ve heard of, this one is a walk in the park, and I embrace it. The only problem? I suffer from this condition called whistle blowing phobia. Perhaps I’ll overcome it tomorrow?

And finally, let’s play guess the quote: “..you snooze you lose. Well I have snost and lost.

fake out

June 19, 2009

Today was my first day of work. Except not, it was more training. Lifeguard training opposed to the hotel training I had last Thursday. Well perhaps I’ll really guard tomorrow?

Got my accounting test back today. Apparently the average (out of 140 points) was in the 90′s. Well isn’t that something?

I became a fan of Singapore on Facebook. That is really the premise of this post. THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT POINT.

Also, it took me a while, but now I really enjoy this song. Thanks to Emily and OTH. Do you enjoy it?

But I’m also highly enthralled by this song. And this one, which reminds me of this one, which makes me think of Wednesday Singapore nights.

And the final song. Another one that is out of character. But that’s just me, always the surprise.

EXCITEMENT 2

June 14, 2009

So I did manage to enter the water mostly without getting my head wet. I did it well enough that I passed the test. Therefore, I will start working Thursday. And Friday and Saturday and Sunday.

Excellent.

EXCITEMENT.

June 12, 2009

Yeah. So I got a job. Lifeguard at the Four Seasons Irving (aka Dallas). I’ll be out in the sun all summer. Excellent. Skin cancer here I come. But first, I need to complete my lifeguard certification class. The most difficult thing I’ve encountered is that darn stride entry. I cannot, for the life of me, keep my head above water. HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO MAINTAIN EYE CONTACT IF MY HEAD GOES UNDER?! Yes that is pretty much the biggest problem in my life.

I took an accounting test today.

My life is most definitely the epitome of exciting.
